This post is for any one in the waiting. The waiting for a job, marriage, child, healing, a house, the next season to unfold, a Promise of God you are holding onto. Waiting comes in many forms and as Believers, we are going from glory to glory. Life is a process - a journey with God.
I hadn't planned on posting today, but as I prayed this morning I was reminded of the worship song, "Take Courage" by Kristene DiMarco. One of the lines "Hold onto hope as triumph unfolds" gets me every time. And I felt in my spirit that some of you need to be reminded today of God's faithfulness and that He keeps His Promises - though sometimes circumstances don't look like it.
The last couple of weeks I have been pushing through long hours of work and planning for Exhale Women and Exhale Retreat. This ministry wasn't exactly my idea... it's definitely something the Lord has called me to and honestly, it comes with a cost. Some costs I was prepared for and some I didn't see coming.
My heart beats for meeting and praying with women, God focused conversations, encouraging and cheering on Beauties in her journey. I know personally how God rescues, restores, and can heal every place of brokenness and I want every woman to be free to fully walk in her God given purposes.
With the God vision of a larger Exhale gathering this year to make room for all His daughters and an upcoming book release also comes large tasks to get it all done. I have somewhat mourned the loss of slower days filled with the many one-on-ones at Frothy Monkey and lately I've allowed the tasks and insecurities to choke out the joy and sight of the eternal purposes God has for this ministry.
Honestly. I too am on a journey.
What I have come to realize is that at the root, I was letting fears take over and cloud the vision and words God spoke to me a little over a year ago. This realization was a reset for me and I started taking every fear to Jesus - in repentance laying it down, seeking every Truth in scripture to replace the lies. And guess what? When I did.. peace, clarity, strengthened faith, renewed hope, fresh vision. It's nothing I conjured up, it's the beautiful simplicity of how God is so ready to meet with us when we bring Him everything.
As I opened my Bible this morning this was waiting for me and I believe it's a word for you today too.
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV)
Jesus is the author and perfecter of our faith. Though I've read this scripture a thousand times verse 3 jumped off the page this morning. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Jesus endured the cross - the suffering and shame - and won! These verses say He endured for the joy set before Him and because He endured and was victorious over death, sin, shame - He made the way for us to not grow weary and lose heart. Do you know why we are encouraged to fix our eyes on Jesus? Because it's the place where miracles can happen.
Friend, do you have a heavy place in your heart today? He wants to replace it with peace.
Are you waiting on a Promise to be fulfilled? He keeps His Promises.
Does today look different than you had thought it would? What do you need to throw off? You can trust His timing.
"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." Hebrews 10:23-24
God wouldn't have called us to persevere, to hope, to believe if He didn't make a way. His faithfulness will complete all that He's begun in your unique, beautiful life.
You are so greatly loved by Him and He is so able.
